Notes:
These posts are part of a series that details my ten-day journey solo bicycling the Natchez Trace Parkway from May 18th to May 27th, 2017. The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile National Parkway that runs from Natchez, MS to Nashville, TN and commemorates the historic Old Natchez Trace.
My trip cycling the Natchez Trace was as rewarding as I could have hoped; it was a real game-changer that severely brightened my perspectives on life. I feel like I’m currently mentally and physically tougher, more confident, more grateful, more hopeful of humanity, and with some stories to tell.
These posts are longer than I expected... I just sat down for a week and kept on writing.. and this is how long it ended up!
To get my complete story, the best way to do so is to read the posts chronologically--I tried my best to keep it entertaining. But if you have limited time and attention span--and if so I totally don't blame you-- I recommend reading the chapters with the red asterisk, which are my BEST stories, including my interaction with a cyclist (CK) who has cycled the country for a total of 122,000 miles over the past few decades, my adventures hitchhiking, and my main takeaways and lessons learned.
Hope you enjoy, and always happy to hear your thoughts and questions!
